K.D. Rose is a poet, author, and curmudgeon who currently has Heavy Bags of Soul, Inside Sorrow, I AM (Poetry in Motion), and Erasing: Shadows on sale at Amazon and other retailers. K.D. also had poetry and short stories published in The Tophat Raven Art and Literary Magazine, and poetry published in The Candlelit Journal, Innovate Magazine, and The Voices Project. In Aug. 2014, K.D. founded and became Editor-in-chief of Vanguard Creatives Quarterly Magazine. She makes no money at this, which explains why she is a curmudgeon, albeit a masked one who writes "Hi!" and uses lots of exclamation points.

this book is perfect for on-the-go reading from a mobile device

Joining in the current vogue in modern poetry of writing poetry from within the confines of Facebook and Twitter posts, "The Brevity of Twit" explores Rose's journey over the last several years in this new medium. "The Brevity of Twit" highlights her successes, her flops, her late night stream-of-consciousness poems, and the poems that just never should have been written. Divided into easy-to-read sections, this book is perfect for on-the-go reading from a mobile device. "The Brevity of Twit" is not just poetry. Each section is cushioned with prose describing the upcoming batch of poems and recalling what was going on when she wrote the poems. This book has all the things that you want in light-hearted poetry: wit, brevity, and self-deprecating humor. Witty observations in a Tweet!

KD Rose's Brevity of Twit is a collection of tweets she wrote between 2012 - 2014. Each chapter has an introduction of her understanding of writing and how Tweets are a new literary form that presents challenges to contemporary writers.
Who should read this? Those who would like to know more about the literary possibilities of Tweets or about literature (particularly poetry) itself without needing to know the technical aspects of Tweeting. The book is also an invaluable compendium of more literate tweets. This collection should be on any social-media writer's flash drive. Although anyone can join Twitter and wade through a sea of mundane observations (many that contain mostly @'s , #'s and links), you'll get a great collection of gems in this book. Like a good anthology of poetry, I frequently return to Brevity to see how a witty writer would have said something of interest.

Fnatastic fast and funny read!

Brevity of Twit is a fantastic fast and fun read. You will never look at Twitter quite the same again. KD Rose not only uses humor in her approach to this social media, but she also shows great talent and creativity with the poetry she manages to compose in 140 characters. There is some moving poetry in here, lots of laughs, and some useful advice if you want to tweet yourself. Very entertaining read that I finished in one sitting. It left a smile on my face and inspired me to up my Twitter game. 5/5 stars just for pure fun and inspiration!
