"REFRESHING, ENJOYABLE AND INSPIRING!"

When my children were young, I searched for books that contained Bible stories that they can understand. As a religion teacher for children in grades one through four, I continued my search for the same reasons. I wish at that time that I was able to find one interesting for young readers. "THE WONDER BOOK OF BIBLE STORIES" is the book I searched for. I read some of the stories to special needs children, and it attracted their attention. They were interested, curious, and many of the stories were open for discussion. The children found wonderful messages pertaining to the different stories. I highly recommend this delightful book to parents with young children, and religion teachers. Each story is easy to read, and understand. The author penned beautiful, inspiring stories that encourage young children to read, and share their point of views.

Not Biblicaly accurate

Read the first book about Adam and Eve they did not build a rock tower for their forgiveness of sins. Did not read any more. Where is creation? Should be before Adam and Eve. Creation in itself shows the magnitude of GOD. I realized it is geared to young readers but don't distort GOD's word.

She understand the Bible much better after reading the stories. It keepes her busy asking
questions. I enjoyed reading it myself. I recommend this book to parents with young children

Don't be fooled by the title.

The only advice the author has to give on the topic of spending $30 a day in Europe is "budget $10 for food, and $20 for accommodations!" Advice I could have given myself. This book is not even worth the $3 to buy it. When I bought this book I expected there to be recommendations on cheap places to stay, or cheap places to eat in various popular European destinations. But all you get is "buy food at the supermarket!" If you're looking to do a cheap European trip, save your money and don't buy this book.

Essentials of Europe 101

This was a great e-book! If you have done tons of traveling before then you may find this information common sense. However I was impressed that it covered everything including cheap food, bathrooms, etiquette, what to wear, safety issues, and more. I feel so much more prepared for my first trip to Europe now!!

Excellent addition to table tennis library

This book talks about tactics a player can utilize in a generic way, and against different styles. It also provides many examples that explain when a given stroke should be used and how. Having learned tactics throughout my journey I was not surprised by the information. Most of it is acquired through experience. Generally, the more experienced the player, the deeper is his tactical understanding. The good part is the fact that you can now refer to the material yourself or refer other players to a specific chapter for an easy in-depth explanation that covers all sorts of combinations. Experience wise, Larry has decades of it both in terms of playing and coaching. So he definitely has a lot to share.

As I have mentioned before, the information in the book is vast and remembering it all will be hard to do. So I would warn that players should not read it to remember it. Its important to read the book to understand it! This is the purpose of the book. To give enough knowledge so that the player can come up with his own ideas on what the player should do next, or what a given opportunity presents.

What did I like the most in the book? Well, for me, I found Larry's stories of his coaching experience within a match invaluable. There are many times when you play someone and think you're doing great, until bam, the opponent's coach gives his player some advice and nothing goes your way anymore. I always wanted to find out - what did the coach tell him that the tempo of the match totally changed. In this regards, Larry provides incredible amounts of information on coaching his students to victory.

Larry's book might be a simple novelty item for professional players, but that is only because the pros are already familiar with the topics in the book. But for mere mortal amateurs like myself, beginner, intermediate and advance players alike, this book is surely a must have.

My best table tennis purchase so far

I bought this book when I was out of the game for a few month because of injury, so I really had time to read and think about what I read.

Immediately after my return my rating went up from 1700 USATT to solid mid 18xx and I truly believe it's because of this book. Several people in my club suspected that I wasn't out because of injury but went away to some sort of table tennis school for intensive training - that much of a difference my game was just because of this book.

There is lot's of material and it's hard to remember it all during the game, but I keep rereading it, practicing one or two aspects at a time and every time I spend time rereading the book I play better because I play smarter.

Definitely a better purchase then yet another "tenergy" or new blade you might be tempted to try just because they are new and shiny and the advertisement promises they will raise your game to the next level. New equipment wont, this book definitely will.

Great book for any level table tennis player

This book contains a wealth of knowledge offered by Mr. Hodges on how to improve your game tactically and strategically. What you will not find in this book is how to properly execute a forehand loop, or a reverse pendulum serve, but rather what to do with these tools in a game once you have already developed them. There is also a whole chapter on reading and understanding spin which I found extremely useful. I would say this book is mostly aimed at beginner and intermediate players, but advanced players could no doubt benefit from the tactical insight offered by Mr. Hodges in this book.

About the Author
ALAN S. KAUFMAN, PhD, is Clinical Professor of Psychology at Yale University School of Medicine and resides in San Diego, California. He is the author or coauthor of numerous, widely used psychological assessment instruments and books, and is a series editor (with Nadeen Kaufman) of the Essentials of Psychological Assessment series (Wiley). He and Elizabeth Lichtenberger have collaborated on a number of books, including Essentials of WAIS®-III Assessments. His most recent tests include the second editions of the Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children (KABC-II), Kaufman Test of Educational Achievement (KTEA-II), and Kaufman Brief Intelligence Test (KBIT-2).

ELIZABETH O. LICHTENBERGER, PhD, is a clinical psychologist residing in Carlsbad, California. Great resource

This is a great book, it contains most of what you need to know about operational amplifiers, starting from the basics to the inner workings of the device. May I say that probably what I find most appealing about this book are the "end of chapter" problems?, perhaps the best approach to end of chapter problems I've ever encountered in an electronics textbook, let me elaborate on that: Instead of just being mere academic circuits with no use, starting from chapter 1 you will find a great deal of useful real-life circuits, the author may ask you to derive the gain equation of the circuit or to prove circuit operation, or any other parameter, which in turn, help you understand how real life circuits work, or maybe even use the circuit you just solved in a real application. I guess that what im trying to say is that even if you will find basic drill excercises, you will also find problems which wont stay only on paper.

The book is somewhat pricey and the reason I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 is that on several occasions the author will just flash formulae at you with the tinniest ammount of information about where did all come from, I understand that the book would have been much thicker if every little nuance had to be written, but this forces you to constantly prove every equation, which is a good thing, however simple things that could be easily understood with a little more information become complicated and force you to spend several minutes trying to figure out how the author got to the formula. I make several notes at the bottom of the pages to save myself a lot of time if I ever have to go back and re-read a particular section.

That being said, the material is very well presented, and overall this is a must-have book for every EE interested on analog design.

Very good intermediate text for op amp design

This is a very good intermediate text for op amp design. Some acquaitance with op amps will be needed before reading this book because the learning curve is steep in the first chapter. However, the approach is thorough and professionally presented. The book is more than a cookbook. Furthermore, the book does not stop with the single op amp, but discusses the use of op amp(s) in circuits. The book is perfectly suited for prototyping the many circuits contained between its two covers. Since my interest was in instrumentation amplifiers, I decided to reduce the circuits of chapter 2 to practice. It was a real learning experience. I think chapter titles will further indicate the comprehensive nature of the book: (1) OA Fundamentals, (2) Circuits w/ Resistive Feedback, (3,4) Active Filter, (5) Static OA Limitations, (6) Dynamic OA Limitations, (7) Noise, (8) Stability, (9) Nonlinear Circuits, (10) Signal Generators, (11) Voltage References and Regulators, (12) D-A & A-D Converters, (13) Nonlinear Amplifiers & Phase-Locked Loops.

outstanding, encyclopedic treatise on op-amp ciruits

I found Franco's work to be as enthralling to read as it was complete and deep in coverage. Not since the immortal Huelsman and Allen (a work long ago "overcome by events") has such a titanic writing job been undertaken in the field of linear circuit and analog filter design. (I certainly don't recall having seen Miller's theorem or the hybrid-pi model--nor did I expect to!). Unfortunately, the book still leaves one puzzle unanswered: does it really matter which input carries the "+" sign and which carries the "-" sign? (The answer is no: it's merely convention that an inverting/noninverting network attaches the source to the "-"/"+" terminal.) Bravo, Dr. Franco. This is a treasured addition to my library, even at $110.

Mary and Thomas realize there is precious little time to take Jon elsewhere before everyone from threatening neighbors to the CIA tries to get their hands on him. The military and the press are closing in on the house when Jon hears his father s voice calling him from their world. Jon realizes the door is open again, and without a moment to lose, the three of them steal away through the woods on a moonless night, guided by the voice of Jon s father to seek the forgotten door.

Sixty Years On

I read this book in grade school and loved it, I think I paid .25 cents. I am almost sixty now and still re-read it every couple of years. A great story. Lots to think about. I wish they would do a movie. The author also wrote the Witch Mountain books.
